Salary dispute with SABC re 5%

BEMAWU today filed a dispute with the CCMA in respect of the 5% increase received by our members who are not part of the so-called bargaining unit. After being requested to start negotiations with the SABC on behalf of those members, the SABC simply cancelled the meeting scheduled and refused to reschedule a meeting.

We believe it is unfair discrimination and the matter will ultimately proceed to the Labour Court after conciliation.
